In our fast-paced modern work environment, it can be difficult to stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats. To prevent security breaches resulting in the loss of sensitive company data, education and training is of vital importance. Selecting a platform to provide excellent cybersecurity training can be just as important as selecting the right anti-virus software. That’s where Breach Secure Now (BSN) comes in. Also known as PII Protect, strives to provide cybersecurity and compliance training.

All new employees should receive a welcome email from BSN when they start their new position. After they set up their account, they should be able to use single sign-on (if it’s enabled by your organization) to sign into their account. There is also an app that integrates with Microsoft Teams (we’ll discuss this in more detail towards the end of this article). Once a new user has signed into their account, their dashboard should look something like the image shown below:

The dashboard provides an overview of training scores, training to be completed, training statistics, company leaderboard and number of external data breaches. At the top of the page are several other tabs as shown below:

The tabs on your account may look different, but we’ll go over each one. The training tab directs you to all currently available training courses, including current and past training. You can also reach this page by clicking the “Go” button next to training tasks on the Dashboard page.

The micro training tab will display all the micro training you have finished as well as those that need to be completed. BSN releases new micro trainings on a weekly basis, so you will be going to this page frequently.

The dark web tab displays the number of accounts in the credentials dump after a particular data breach. These accounts are graded on a numerical index from 100 – 0 based on the credibility of data source and suspected legitimacy of the leak. Essentially, this feature monitors the dark web for any employee data, such as passwords or personally identifiable information (PII). This will allow you to be proactively engaged in protecting your company’s sensitive information in the event of a data breach.

The newsletter tab is an archive of BSN security newsletters going back to September 2016.

The policies tab just gives you an overview of all enabled BSN policies and what they do.

Breach Secure Now Teams Integration App

As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, keeping up with security training is more important than ever before. However, it can be difficult to take time out of our busy schedule to make time for training. To combat this, Breach Secure Now (BSN) is now offering an app that can seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Teams. This solution is ideal for maintaining workflows and increasing efficiency and productivity. This setup has several benefits, including:

  1. Uninterrupted workflow: instead of having to stop what you’re doing and try to remember your username and password, you can simply click on the PII Protect icon on your Teams side bar and directly access training modules. This allows for the seamless transition into training mode without significantly disrupting daily workflow.
  2. User-friendly: the integration of PII Protect into the Teams app is simple and easy to use. You will receive notifications when a new training module is available.
  3. Compliance: this integration will help your organization stay in compliance with all applicable data regulations

The BSN app will appear as an icon on the left sidebar of your Teams app, as shown below.

Clicking on the icon will open up the BSN console, allowing you access to your account without having to stop and sign into a separate website to complete the training. The left side panel will provide easy navigation to training modules as shown in the screenshot below.

This is essentially the same menu options you get in the BSN dashboard, now accessible from your Teams app.
