IntegriCom client Altamaha Electric Membership Corporation was chartered as a member-owned cooperative in May 1936, with headquarters in Lyons, Georgia. Although most cities already had electricity when Altamaha Electric Membership Corporation was organized, less than 10 percent of the nation’s farms and rural residents were so fortunate because private power companies refused to serve areas that were unprofitable. Altamaha EMC is one of the 42 electric cooperatives that were formed when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 7037 in 1935, creating the Rural Electrification Administration (REA).

The Burn Foundation of America aids families of burn patients being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. This includes lodging at the Chavis House, daily meals, and transportation – all free of charge. In addition, the Burn Foundation also assists patients upon their discharge with services related to their return to independent living. This includes medication, anti-scarring garments, and transportation to follow-up appointments.
